Car and Driver History

The #2 hardtop was built as a thank you to Johnny Franklin & the Johnson family for 60 years of racing. The Johnson family has supported many racers over the years. The #2 is a 1940 Chevy coupe powered by a 235 Chevy 6 cyc. with 3 Rodchester Carbs., a 3-speed transmission & a 9″ Ford rearend. The suspension is a Ford Mustang II in front and leaf springs & coil overs in back. Last yaer the #2 won three races. It is driven by Conrad Cavallero who started his oval track career in 1969. He has raced all over California and Nevada.
